LazyVINTAGE loves a walk in closet

I officially have a walk in closet.

After six months of thinking I would use my spare room as a study (really?  what was I thinking?), I finally turned the entire room into a walk in closet.  Now instead of a junk room with a desk I have a beautiful vintage inspired space to walk in to and get dressed mmmmm.

Over the last fifteen years I collected so many lovely vintage things and its nice to have a space to show them off.  I would love to share them with you so I have been thinking of taking photos and putting them up...maybe here on the old blog, or maybe its time for a new one....just for vintage fun...what do you think?

It's been a while and to be honest I am thinking of taking a break from blogging so I can concentrate on other things.  In the meantime here are a few lovely inspiring images from French Interior Designer Madeleine Castaing ENJOY

LazyVINTAGE …jewellery

…pieces picked up over the years that are doing the rounds on my neck right now.  The neon orange beads with scarab detail (from Egypt) have to be my favourite! LOVE

LazyMOOD

Right now my mind is consumed on perfecting the perfect cosy space. If I were to have a moodboard on my wall for inspiration it would be filled with images of Theda Bara, one of the first silent film actresses.  The sets are lush and there is so much drama in the images.  LOVE

LazyHOME music room here we come...

...was searching the web for inspiration when I found this gem.  I am about to embrace the musical side of a living space with the addition of my Mums pianola.  I love the idea of a leopard cushion, on the piano stool of course.

Once its all settled in...'music room' cocktail party here we come.

LazySUNDAY and a little bit of guest bloggin…

A while ago my beautiful friend Miss Gabby over at Savvy Home asked me to take part in a ‘guest blog’ adventure while she was enjoying a well deserved break in Europe. I was asked to share my thoughts on five topics from the  ‘interior design’ world…so here tis!

1stclass  1. Trend - the pale grey sofa. My taste is definitely more on the eclectic side and the addition of a pale, modern sofa to the lounge area really lifts it to a modern space.

pale grey furniture

2. A Classic - the eames chair. It will always be my favourite. Perfectly stylish and cosy all at the same time. I have already set my lounge up with a corner library in 'eames purchase' preparation.

3. A Designer - if I had to pick one designer, I would pick 'everyone'. Being able to see other peoples spaces via blogs such as 'Savvy Home' and 'The Selby' always inspires me to display and express myself through individual pieces I have bought over the years.

4. A Room - I have always wanted a round bed covered in fur...medieval style, so here is the closest picture I could find to that!

Room - Kylie

5. A Rule - not one for traditional rules but generally I prefer not to have 'matching' items, rather individual pieces of design. Whether it be an item of furniture or a vintage piece of costume jewellery hanging on the wall, these pieces provide a lovely window into the character of the person living in the house, something I find difficult to read in a 'matchy matchy' home.

LazyVINTAGE new purchases + honey hive

Below is a bit of info about a fabulous shop I came across recently.  If you are looking for room after room of vintage finds, this is the place for you.

Where:  Honey Hive Emporium, 192 Prospect Road, Prospect (open Saturdays yay!)

Run by a sweet family, Mum, Dad, daughter and even a pooch to welcome you at the counter. This place is full of sweet finds.

Anyone who has been shopping ‘vintage’ for as long as I have knows how scarce stock can be these days (for finds earlier than 1980!). And when you do find the stock shops are selling at top prices even if the garments are dirty and damaged.  This is where Honey Hive stands out. You can see straight away when you walk in and you chat to the owners, they take pride in their finds, repairing some and making sure they're all lovely and clean.

I can’t recommend them enough!  well maybe not too much…I want some sweet finds left for me!

LOVE it.

p.s. the bottom pics are of two recent finds there – one black velvet jacket with gold embroidery, and a pink silk kimono robe with embroidered flowers. YUM!

LazyHOME = Fur

So I am off this weekend to check out a couple of 'real' fur blankets at one of my favourite Adelaidian vintage emporiums.  She has had them stored away and has been kind enough to pull them out to show.

Fingers crossed one of them is nice and lush...ready to be thrown on my bed before the real winter sets in!

...lets hope they look a little something like these...

LazySUNDAY swoons once again over BIBA

How amazing is this!   Oh how I wish there was still a Biba store...meh.
If you have a spare five thousand pounds you can pick up this lot on ebay.  I just love everything about the Biba branding, the dark rich colourful 1970s flavour totally ROCKS.

Recently Biba re-launched via House of Fraser in the UK.  You can buy clothing and accessories online, but alas no cosmetics.  The last couple years their site has talked about sourcing a supplier to re-launch their make up...fingers crossed this one day happens, I will be the first in line if it does!  LoveBIBA.

LazySUNDAY Vintage BootLUST

Currently obsessing over red, grey, and gold coloured boots.

The below two pairs are mine (picked up from op shops over time).  I have given up the hunt for gold boots like below (Men's Dior), instead I have decided to find the perfect boot and go the spray paint option (will keep you posted on this crafty attempt).  LOVEthem.
