LazyREAD ‘letters to an unborn child’

Am happy to say I just scored myself a first edition of ‘Letters to an unborn child’ by Oriana Fallaci on ebay.  I wouldn’t say I agree politically with everything she said but still I find her so fascinating.

I had heard about this book years ago and have been looking for a nice hardcover, dusty edition to keep me amused during winter. Originally in Italian it was later translated - not for everyone I am sure (It is written as a letter by a young professional woman to her unborn child; it details the woman's struggle to choose between a career she loves and an unexpected pregnancy, explaining how life works with examples of her childhood, and warning her child about the unfairness of the world.) Yes not the lightest of subjects.

mmm winter reading all rugged up…glass of red…take me there now.

There are moments in Life when keeping silent becomes a fault, and speaking an obligation. A civic duty, a moral challenge, a categorical imperative from which we cannot escape

LazyHOME love = MOR

Although MOR have been around for quite some time now in Australia, living overseas these products can be a little tough to find.  Thank goodness for e-shops!  My favourite has to be the lovely 'marshmallow' products, and you can't help but love the boudoir style packaging.  Just LUSH.

LazyFOOD love = cafe komodo

Last weekend the girls and I went for a mini adventure to check out a vintage shop that had been recommended (more to come on that) on Prospect Road.  While we were there we went to lunch at Cafe Komodo – never been before – will definitely be returning!

The food was sooo moorish, decor was fab and the people there were the sweetest ever.  It felt a little like walking into your best mates shed that had been turned into a cafe just for you.  Apparently the place turns into a jazz lounge with live music on a Friday night which sounds just PERFECT.

LazyLOVE for nan

It’s been a tough week…my nan passed away and have been feeling a little on the sad side.  Such a beautiful strong lady now off somewhere kickin’ up a storm with my pop. When I moved overseas years ago she wrote me a letter every week for the first year so I never felt too far away from home. After the first year she started sending me hand made cards once a month which always made my day.  I have kept all her letters, envelopes and all.  Bless her heart and sweet ways.  Love you always ivy howard xxx
